It’s a flat bottom carbon steel wok claimed to have no coating on it. Apart from seasoning oil. Flat bottom means it’s ok on induction but doesn’t work great on it.
Without heat coming up to the sides of the wok like on gas – it gets really hot on bottom. Not the fault of the wok per se, as a small flat induction cooktop and an all steel wok doesn’t work wonders for even heating.
After initial cleaning it took a seasoning well on the bottom – not so great on the sides. Using a camping stove fuelled by gas gave a better seasoning layer.

It’s lightweight, holds heat very well and is excellent for the kind of stir frying I intended to do. So far I’ve used it for jeera aloo, kung pao chicken and hakka noodles and it was a joy to use. I could easily toss and mix what I was cooking and my hand was at ease the whole time. This thing will last for generations if you take good care of it and store it correctly. After every use, I make it a point to wash it and lightly oil it. It looks beautiful in the kitchen too. We don’t have a lot of options for carbon steel woks on Amazon India as of me writing this review. But if you are able to get your hands on this one, go for it. You won’t regret it.

This is a very decent solid wok. I am experienced at cooking with woks and this is surprisingly good quality and excellent value for money. It requires an initial seasoning before use – just follow the easy instructions in the booklet enclosed if you are unsure how to do this.
The negative reviews come from people who don’t know how to treat or maintain it. It is made of iron so if you leave it wet of course it will rust. All you do after washing it is place it on a heat source to evaporate any remaining water and rub it all over with a little cooking oil and you are done. With a little bit of simple care, I believe this piece is robust enough to last for years.

This is a very nice shape and size product with excellent quality, Carbon Steel. I have used Joyce Chain Wok which is 5 times costlier than this but this one is really at a very reasonable price now.

I use an induction hob and this works excellently. I wanted something with high sides for stir fries, curries, pan frying fish, even eggs and other items that tend to spatter. Cast iron would be great but is too heavy and takes ages to hear up. Stainless steel is good but needs loads of oil or very low heat cooking to prevent sticking . I don’t use non stick utensils. This carbon steel work comes seasoned and after a few uses that wore out at the bottom but it reseasons quickly and easily. It’s become something I use very often and food doesn’t stick with just a thin costing of oil. Do make sure that it’s thoroughly dried and lightly oiled after every use. The handle is removable so it goes in the otg too! Absolutely love it and am considering buying the 10″ fry pan from trilonium too. .
PS: Yes, the sides don’t heat up in an induction hob if just placed on its base, but, you can rotate the pan… The entire pan is induction compatible, not just the base.
